I don't know man, I think that musical standards are not on display here, but rather the standard for what makes us pay attention to a video so obviously devoid of content. The guy's mocking attitude, his unfamiliarity with his own native language, his assurance that what he is giving us is worth our attention, all point to a massive devolution of culture.

The musician is displaying a new musical instrument, by playing musical ideas that demonstrate its capability. There was harmony, rhythm, melody, and contrast, and yes it could have been better composed, but that's not what this was about.

In writing the above paragraph I just displayed my own critical attitude. This young ignoramus doesn't even seem to have a point - if you listen to all of the incomplete sentences he utters, they don't all line up in the direction of what seems to be his mocking attitude. There is no coherent critique.

Wow. Hey everybody, download Stravinsky's Poetics of Music, read it, and then never watch this guy's videos again.
