Greg - Is there a video of the recording of WOTM?

I just listened to it and really enjoyed it!

The Stick is the perfect vehicle for improvising. Being able to alter the harmonic and rhythmic setting at any moment, as well as having different sonic pallets for each hand. Plus the immediacy of having your fingers right on the strings...

Keyboards are great and so is the guitar, but only one type of instrument lets you do it all with such complete integration and expressive immediacy...

I'd only been playing for 2 years when I released my first improv recording with Tim Reynolds Stick and Stones: a collection of spontaneous improvisations. I'm probably proudest of Water on the Moon (1998), though AZUL was a pretty fun session as well. There are very few long-form solo improv recordings out there on any instrument... (Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert comes to mind... any others you can think of?)

If you haven't checked out WOTM, please do. Here is is as one uninterrputed hour-long piece on bandcamp...

I am a big fan of this album, a really powerful display of improvisational ability on the Stick. In my opinion, anyways. Others might disagree.... lol but I like what I like. Very inspirational, I highly recommend it. My very favourite of Greg's releases. Plus it's a fun listen, and sounds cool. I'd be interested to see what Greg would do as an all improvised "part two" to the release...

Thanks for all the WOTM love, everyone.

Dean, I wish I had a video of it! Video was a novelty back then, nowadays you're lucky if you can give a performance without someone filming it...

The first thing I had the foresight to video was a performance the following year at Miller's with Darrell Rose.

Here's a tune from that show, "Big Meadows"

Very nice. You know Greg, that we'd all buy a dvd/video of you just improvising and messing around, right? Heck, Emmett should do one too... bet it'd be deadly. Just sayin'...
