Re: Who Uses A Drum Stool OR Damn Spent More money on gear
Gigging, what a concept
. In my experience playing out, that being pro-bono, busking, jam sessions or for some remuneration
, the chair is sometimes a crucial piece of kit.
It sounds like your gig is one of those take up space occasions. No offense, I have done more of these two or three hour sessions than anything else. If money is important have your case open and ideally have some CD's on display
And be forewarned, regular folks have no respect for music or musicians.
Sorry, but it goes with the territory. People will come up right in the middle of what ever you are playing (no matter how good it is) and say "what is that thing" or "is that a sitar". Don't worry, you will have plenty of time to decide to ignore them or explain the history of 'The Stick', again
...
But the drum stool? These are great for drummers
. And, in the studio I use one at the desk
because you can swivel around and pick things up without arms or a back to get in the way.
For gigging though I think that 'Thrones' are way too heavy and bulky to carry around. I have used folding auditorium chairs:

. They are light and easy to carry.
