Post Dragonfire - New Progressive Rock "Sketch"
I put this together this morning - it's a starting point I thought I'd share with y'all. Although I still practice my Stick stuff like the devil, I've been in a guitar (rock band) mood for the last while. Lots of stuff going on here, lemme know what you think. Enjoy!

I think that one of the things that really helps me keep at it is the creative/compositional aspect. Although working out covers has it's place for me, I love to make up new pieces of music so I thought I'd share... Maybe next time there will be some Stick!

Love the double guitar harmonies! Nicely done. I hear a little Satriani influence in there.

I divide up my musical time between performance and recording.

The performance is geared to solo Stick and two band projects.

The recording is divided between whatever inspires me in the moment (piano, Stick, synths, drums) and film/video soundtrack stuff.

I find that if I focus too much on recording, I lose the ability to play complete songs from beginning to end.

So I commented over at Icomp, before noticing that you had posted here in Teflon. Really good stuff, Scott!

Quote:
Flame on! Neo-classical yet classic Scott Kerr in its virtuosity. A nice, catchy groove to support the arpeggios and runs. The riff at 2:40 is particularly hooky and produced well--lots of interesting things happening in all the right frequencies rocking it out together. Awesome!

Hey guys! Thanks for checking it out - making up crazy guitar stuff is always fun, and I enjoy sharing what I create even if it's still in "sketch" form.

My practice/creation time is kind of divided up 50/50 between the Stick and guitar currently. Lots and lots of practice to get where I am going...
