I will never forget Canada Day 2003, as I was playing at the Montreal Jazz Festival in the Complexe Desjardins. My Montreal friends referred to it as 'moving day" as apparently everyone's lease terminates on July 1. From the only state in the US where the Canadian border is south of us--other than Alaska, of course--Michigan. Windsor is just an hour to the southwest of me here. Indeed - I was born in Windsor. (grew up elsewhere) but then went back there for my undergrad!
