The musician is displaying a new musical instrument, by playing musical ideas that demonstrate its capability. There was harmony, rhythm, melody, and contrast, and yes it could have been better composed, but that's not what this was about.

This young ignoramus doesn't even seem to have a point - if you listen to all of the incomplete sentences he utters, they don't all line up in the direction of what seems to be his mocking attitude. There is no coherent critique.
