Can this tune be done on Stick?
I'm very curious, has anyone tried to play anything like this on Stick?

Hes got a nice handle on it. In a peaceful voice, Emmett, Bob and Steve were most likely playing it before he was born.nonetheless thanks for sharing.

Ridiculously good chops.
I prefer to take inspiration from someone like that and just try one or two things.
Thanks for the share.

I liked seeing the layering of different techniques. Minus the percussive thumping on the guitar, Stickists do this all day.

Except the harmonics stuff. I don't see a lot of harmonics on a Stick. And I'd quibble with some of the ordering of the 10 steps. Arpeggios after walking bass? I guess it's "levels" and not "the order that people learn to do things," and "levels" can be whatever you want it to be. Having said all that, this was an excellent piece of playing and singing and I much enjoyed it, especially with the "10 levels" frame put on it. Good stuff. (I'll admit that I have never heard Greg or Steve sing, or Bob sing either, for that matter. Come on, guys! We're missing level 10! )

Re: Can this tune be done on Stick?
Summertime is very hip when using alternate melody and chord changes in a great Wes Montgomery composition and performance called Four On Six. Check out the many many versions. And listen to Wes' version of Summertime to hear the connection. I recorded this in 2001 on Stick in a trio with drum master Matt Wilson and guitar legend Larry Coryell. I called our variation "9 On 12".

Tone Eleven. That makes sense, you hooking up with Larry Coryell.
I saw him last year at our Tassie arts precinct, MONA. Coryell had a coloristic way of playing that seems very appealing to the sensibilities of stick.
