....... or maybe it's two chapman sticks lying on a stand!

You decide:

Looking at the second video, maybe Emmett needs to get his patent out!

Holy... that's beautiful :D

It IS akin to the Stick, and I've tried to play it in that fashion at times :p
It does seem to approach technique et al from a whole different paradigm though.

I wonder what everyone else has to say?

They LOOK like Sticks but also look home made ... or perhaps modified. As far as patents go ... I "think" if someone doesn't try to market something and only use it themselves they don't violate the patent laws. I'm no lawyer, I COULD be mistaking.

I've invented a new instrument! you lay two pianos on their side and play one with each hand whilst standing up. I'm calling it a Dualano.

I find it funny to use ergonomics as an argument for this kind of approach. Having played keyboards for several years, I never felt as connected to an instrument as when I'm holding The Stick and grabbing the notes. It feels like it's a part of me.

I've experimented a bit with this kind of horizontal positioning, and even recommended the rotation of the fretboard away from the player to a guy who insisted that he had to have his instrument lying down for medical reasons, but the fact that you have to push "away" off-angle down to the fret is a problem, IMO.

Another re-inventor of the wheel...

I would call that the "Typewriter Technique".

I've fooled around with it a bit. Hard to get the power for a good bend playing that way.

I just don't see the advantage?
