A couple of things to note:

Ron Jarzombek was heavily featured on the first Gordian Knot record which was, of course, the brain child of Stickist Sean Malone. In addition to Malone and Jarzombek, that record also featured John Myung and Trey Gunn.

The title cut on Pat Metheny's 1977 Watercolors record was a 12-tone exercise.

Lots of tone-row music is... uneasy listening. But, Arnold Schoenberg wrote some fairly attractive pieces using the technique.
