Post Note Placement = Tuning software? AP?
Hello,

At one time I seem to remember someone created either a web based ap or software? not sure,. You could input your tuning, how many strings, etc and it would show every note position on every string, on the entire board. I remember being able to print out pages on an 11x17 printer.

Anyone less "senior" than me remember who what where this is?

Thanks.

I use an app called Fretboard Pro. Not only shows the notes per string and fret in any tuning, but also chords and scales. There's also a pretty handy website that seems to be a different company altogether:

There was an old post that had a link to software called Grid'l. I think the person was Randy Brown who created it. I clicked on the link, but it was dead.

I have fretboard charts I made from scratch but once I memorized the notes on the 3 lowest bass strings, I put the charts away and found I can better carve out and maintain my mental map of the instrument by working on standards in common keys taking the time to sort things out as I go and repeating out loud to myself, the notes, scales, intervals, chords I'm playing and reasons I'm playing them. Seems kinda neurotic but that way the chart lives in my head and hands instead of a piece of paper.

That's the one!. Thanks Brett!
I just switched to Gene Perry's "full baritone" tuning so I'll have to figure out how to apply that to the "custom" selection but yes, that is the one I have used before.

Thanks to everyone else who replied. I will look into that "fretboard pro" as well. I really appreciate the help.

Hey Scott... Just checked out "Fretboard Pro" ...very cool and it will be extremely helpful. Wish I could download it as an AP to keep on my laptop. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
