I'm curious about the extended techniques people have discovered and make regular use of. For example, I figured a way to simulate a whammy bar by leaning the bottom of the stick up against my leg and leaning into the stick, lightly bending the neck while holding notes (as a guitarist might). I also figured out how to simulate a slide by wearing a slide ring on my index finger of my treble hand and plucking the melody strings with my other fingers.

Anybody else use techniques like these?

Still curious if anybody has tried the techniques I suggested above or has any others they might find interesting. I know Kevin Keith slips a free finger underneath one of his lighter bass strings and flicks it up so it simulates a slap/pop of a slap bass.

Actually Steve is my teacher. I met with him for a lesson earlier today and he has already given me many techniques to incorporate.
