There is a tune on the new Metheny cd where Pat creates an "orchestrion" loop, Sanchez does a drum loop, and the bass player creates his own. They then play over the top (including Chris Potter!!!!!) what a GREAT PIECE!!!!!!!!!

I would tell you the name but my cd player died with the disc inside : (

I saw the Orchestrion tour and thought it was absolute genius. He gave a talk during the show on how he did what he did and improvised some material from scratch. Really amazing.

Yes That's the track Thank Gene.

Glenn I can't agree more I saw the Orchestrion tour 2 times and he used it in the duo show I saw later on.

This track blows me away. If anyone is familiar with the duo improvs associated with Mbase music you will really dig this tune. And to have Metheny and Potter playing off of each other is a great gift. And it is done over loops. End of debate as far as I'm concerned. True art.
