Maj9s and Min9s
Hey! I'm working on a tune and I was wondering what left hand voicings everyone uses to play Major and Minor 9s? I couldn't find any in the Stick Book™....

Re: Maj9s and Min9s
I use those all the time in my Mirrored 4ths tuning. One of the reasons I use it is because I like closed voice chords with 9ths and 13ths. I know it's not common and I don't ever try to imply this is better. It has a different set of possibilities and sounds and I happen to like those.

Re: Maj9s and Min9s
Pretty sure it's covered in Free Hands, let me check it.

Re: Maj9s and Min9s
I'm currently mapping out all of the four note combinations available on the minor 9th. I've already done it for the major 9 chord. If you're interested, I could upload it (it's hand-written so it may be a challenge to read) when I'm done.

Re: Maj9s and Min9s
You can play the melody in the right hand and add 3rds or 9ths to the voicings. I do this all the time Steve

I couldn't find any in the Stick Book™.... for the Maj9 try this (might be a bit of a stretch) Code: - | - | - | R | 3 | - | - | - | - | - | - | 9 | fingers Code: - | - | - | 4 | 1 | - | - | - | - | - | - | 3 | unfortunately the min9 is not possible like this if you have the high bass 4th you can do this one Code: - | - | - | - | - | R | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | 3 | - | - | - | - | - | 9 | - | - | Code: - | - | - | - | - | R | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - |b3 | - | - | - | - | - | - | 9 | - | - |

Thanks Greg I'll give it a go and incorporate Steve's solution as well.
