Post Alcohol and playing
Can you guys play after 1 drink, 2 drinks.....3 drinks?

Personally, as much as I luvs the booze, I cannot play at all with it in my system. Ok, I can have a glass of wine while I START to play, and finish a bunch of tunes relatively unscathed, but after that.....if I have the second glass.....not a chance. I lose all of my not so fine motor skills. Couldnt do it on bass either.

There are some guys that can (seem) to pull it off......and some guys who think theyre pulling it off, but arent....

Do you (can you) drink and play?

cheers,
kev

If I have practiced sufficiently, booze is not inhibitory to my playing. The fingers should know what they are doing.

Well.... I myself like to sip a little single malt, and smoke a wee blunt sometimes for my evening practice session... Gives a gentle lift in spirit and muse.... Ah... 12 y/o McCallan and some Laughing Buddha!! "That;s the ticket"!~

One drink is ok for me (to inhibit the stress)...but not only for me...what I mean is I hate so much to play with alcoholics. They think they are great when they get drunk but many times they are absolut assh**le...lol.

If it's a private party I don't care but if it's an official show where people pay to listen to a group...no way Charly...

I had already been off the booze for five months by the time my Stick arrived. Hopefully one day, I will be able to talk about my ability to play after using medicinal cannabis.

I have no problem drinking and gigging as a bass player or keyboard player because I can do it in my sleep. The Stick however requires my full attention and clarity of mind.

I may add, I quit "drinking" a few years back. Too many headaches in the morning and too many dangerous 2 AM drives home after the gig.
