Guitars bags I'm sure the recognise, but surly a Stick bag looks pretty much like gun bag to anyone not familiar with these niche instruments? The gun bag I saw with Mike was not generically-shaped like the ones shown in the link. It was very definitely shaped like a hunting rifle. But now that I know ones exist that are a bit more amorphous, I say go for it.

I have some kind of gig bag (may be it was made for stick, but more likely not), but my Grand bounces in it like a toy in chocolate egg, so I'm still searching for something that would handle my instrument more firmly.

http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/omnibass.phpor a bag to the Omnibass. A Omnibass and a Stick are pretty much identical in length. 113 cm for the Omnibass, 115 cm for a 10 string Stick. A bag for a bazooka might also do the trick for the NRA people on the forum if a rifle bag is not manly enough...

Stick bags, rifle bags, bazookas. I've walked thru airports feeling the guilt of the world too. Even when exiting a department store, I feel like strip searching myself at the door - feeling the woes of the world.
We could put a guitar body shape on the bag - very musical to look at. You'd instantly be the artist instead of the terrorist. Still, I like minimal form for the function. That's how The Stick is designed, so I'm not inclined to compromise with the case.
So what to do? I've got the "Chapman Stick" logo embroidered on the pocket. (Could still be a gun.) The bag is black (not good). It could be pink with musical notes attached. You could dress like a swinger with long hair and shades. (That may not get you very far.)
We've ordered a new supply of soft cases from the Far East and a "first article" or rep-production sample will soon arrive. I'll let you know when we receive the entire run of 100.
I guess the only solution at airports is to appear friendly and be ready to explain a lot.

You could print a white graphic representation of the Stick on it

Re: Gig Bag Suggestions Please.
Since this is a gig bag thread I'm gonna bring up my quip about my particular bag.
The only thing I don't like about my Stick bag is the location of the pocket. It's at the top of the bag which means if I put too much stuff in it the bag tips forward when I'm carrying it by the handle, away from the skid pad. I saw in the last un-boxing video that this is not the "case" on all Stick bags. Quite the minor quip eh?
I guess I do wish it had the Stick man logo on there. Boy howdy that's such a cool logo.

Depending on what kind of humor you sense from the person asking, you could always reply "Mine launches notes." Emmett, that's happy news re: more gig bags on the way; I'm on the waiting list.
