The only thing I don't like about my Stick bag is the location of the pocket. It's at the top of the bag which means if I put too much stuff in it the bag tips forward when I'm carrying it by the handle, away from the skid pad.

The original soft bag model has the pouch at the bottom. Much better than the pouch at the top, I agree.

Except that the pouch is then right on top of the belt hook.

Fluke, that depends on the way you put your instrument in the gig bag. I place it with the strings under the pouch, not the belt hook.

That's funny. I was just going to post that my gig bag has the pouch on the bottom but over the pickup (not over the belt hook.) I never even thought that someone was putting the Stick in the other way.

So do we start a discussion now about the right and wrong way to put the Stick in the gig bag :)

But then the tools and stuff in the pocket are rattling agnst the strings, pickup etc, instead of against the back of the belt hook.

Speaking about the Belt Hook... isn't there a hole in the gigbag to let you secure the Belt Hook at your belt (not on the tummy, on the other side - your back) or in one of the rear pockets of you trousers? Not kidding, I actually read about this somewhere around here and thought it was a genius design.

a) The padding between the pocket and the instrument is so thick that nothing can scratch, damage or disturb anything on the instrument, even if it was rattling.

b) All my tools are gathered in a small bag that snuggles into the gig bag's pocket

Absolutely zero risk :)

PS: And my instrument travels a lot (when there's no air traffic controllers strike...)

Camera tripod bags also are suitable. I've got a large one that suits well, and is padded.
