Playing position stands
Hi y'all
I have searched a little, (probably should make more of an effort because I am sure the topic has been covered) for chats about standing-position stick stands. I like the idea of not wearing the belt to hook the instrument into but perhaps have a stand that angles the Stick nicely to suit, letting me just go at it from behind (ahem).
Does anyone have anything like that, or know of previous posts here that could help? I've seen a couple of DIY lap-dawgs-like projects which I love, but would really like a stand the axe can be placed on for playing.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Playing position stands
Hey Paul. Private message Gene Perry about this topic. He has been in contact with John Taggart about doing a production run of taggart stands for those that are interested. This is exactly what you are looking for. http://www.stickist.com/viewtopic.php?t=7370&p=57007I've since gone back to playing the normal way, but this is a cool device and works very well.... cheers, kev

Re: Playing position stands
Hi Paul / Kevin,
Correct! We are preparing to make a batch of TAGG interfaces. These are all hand made, all wood Chapman Stick straight stand Interfaces. They are designed specifically to fit with the belt hook of both fixed and four position models.
I expect to have an announcement in the next week as to the availability of these. At that time, we'll announce cost, shipping time and support for the product. There are a few outstanding requests that I have had for the TAGG Interface from all over the world - if you are wanting updates, I will reply from my gmail just as soon as they are ready.

Re: Playing position stands
Thanks guys. Sounds great
One question Gene, you said 'wood sticks', I'm a Railboard guy, does that rule me out?

Re: Playing position stands
It will work with the RB too Paul....no differences....Gene was referring to the construction of the Taggart stand itself being made of wood.
cheers, kev

Re: Playing position stands
Watching Gene's videos, I always marvel at the way he walks right up to his Stick-on-a-stand and starts playing a familiar song "on a dime". If your instrument is standing there in your room, you may well feel encouraged to walk right over and play it any time the muse alights.
Then, if you're on stage playing bass, guitar, keys or drums, you can also walk over to your stationary Stick just waiting to be played (center stage of course).

Re: Playing position stands
Thanks Emmett. It is very convenient to be free of the strap and the belt hook.
ON a related note, the conversations with John are going well. Still hoping to have an announcement in the next week on our first batch of Tagg Interfaces.
