Re: what do you do for a living beside chapman stick
Software development focusing on 3D computer graphics for well over 30 years now. I've been at Autodesk Inc. for 20 years this August and in my particular area, there really isn't a better place to be working.
Getting to build a brand new website for Emmett back in 2001ish was a bonus although website work is more of a hobby and not my area of expertise.

I've been lucky enough to be able to fly this dreamboat for the last 9 years at a wonderful airline called Westjet here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Before this gig, I used to fly seaplanes in Northern Ontario, then multi engine turbo-props for quite some time......

Exceptionally cool on both of those!! But I have to admit that I have a soft spot for planes and flying (having never done it myself).
We had a boy from London (ONT) living with us while he played in the OHL. After his stint was finished, he took the college money they offered and is currently learning to be a pilot at Western Ontario University.
Greg Howard used to say that when meeting other Stick players, the fact that they play Stick is usually the least interesting thing about them. Discussions like this make me think he may be onto something

Now that I've actually ordered my Stick, I feel like I'm a part of the community enough to answer.
I'm a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. I do about 50-60% hand surgery, a good bit of post-bariatric body contouring, skin cancer and other reconstruction and maybe 10%-15% cosmetic.
Work is one of my passions, farming is the other, and soon (I hope) learning to play the Stick.

Cool. I have two other students who are surgeons. Perhaps The Stick can become a hospital tool

Wow, quite a fascinating range of professions!
As some of you may already know I've been a software engineer in the music tech field, I had worked for a couple small plug-in companies for about 12 years until one of them (Camel Audio) was acquired by Apple a year and a half ago (our synth Alchemy first appeared in Logic/Garageband/MainStage last summer). We're integrated into the Music Apps team, working closely with the development group in Germany (formerly Emagic). I love the job as well as living in Edinburgh!
