How long is typical for Stick Enterprises to ship strings?
I ordered a pack of strings and a on Sunday night, ready to have SE see it first thing Monday.
Now, as of Tuesday afternoon, still no confirmation of the order or shipping.
While I can give it time when it comes to any company actually shipping orders in a timely manner in this day and age of "whenever it gets there" shipping companies, money has left my bank account, I have an order number, but nothing so far to say anything further.
Am I being a bit hasty here? I guess I've gotten so used to the "big guns" answering or shipping items within hours that I might be a bit hard on expecting SE (still really a brick and mortar, Mom and Pop store) to do the same...
Now, about getting this stuff into Canada in a timely manner without the rape and pillage of Tax(es), duty and quite possibly brokerage fees!
What day ye?

Our holiday was last week!! On the plus side, I DID get an email from Jeff at SE, letting me know that the strings (and new strap) are being shipped out today! Now I just have to "hurry up and wait" as it were; for both the shipment to arrive, and just how much more cross-border "screwage" I'll have to deal with! Thank you again for the gentle reminder!

My experience is that SE gets in-stock items out and in my hands quite quickly. Within a week or so, but I’m in the US so no border issues.

Oh, when I lived in the US (FL, then KS and back to FL), I absolutely LOVED getting things ordered and bam! They were at my residence within days! eg; It took less than two weeks to get the parts ordered and delivered for my P-bass clone (actually took longer for the nitro lacquer to cure! LOL). Here in Canada (Niagara Region of Southern Ontario), it's hit or miss, depending if the seller understands anything at all about cross-border shipping. Most don't, which is why I was asking if any other Canadians had experience with SE. My strings and strap are somewhere in that USPS Priority shipping No-man's Land called "on route to destination!"

Tracking info sometimes shows an SE package to be wandering around California for several days before it starts on serious travel. All part of the wonders of modern Logistics? LOL! My most recent SE order (strings, a few months ago) managed an astounding sprint across the continent & Atlantic Ocean - it was at my door in a week!

Luckily, my strings/strap made the flight from LAX to YYZ (Toronto Pearson International Airport, not the Rush song! LOL) sometime between dinner last night and my arrival at the Day Job this morning. Canada Post now lists it as "waiting to receive", which really means that Canada Customs are taking a little "peek" at said package from Cali! I'm sure that the next notification will be asking for the duty and taxes to be paid before they release it.

Re: How long is typical for Stick Enterprises to ship string
I recall ordering a couple of extra sets of Crafty/Fripp tuning for my RB 8 once I finally got my RB-8 instrument set up the way I needed her to be, and that was maybe a few years ago... well, it was right after Cambria left and the new guy took over.
[*No wait - that's impossible - I must have ordered extra strings as soon as I took delivery of the instrument, which was at least a few years ago - as it's only been very recently that I got this instrument set up perfectly as far as uniform string spacing goes....]
So, I figured that I had somehow fallen from grace and I now get my strings elsewhere.
[Kallium strings ?? something like that...]
PS: I never did get those strings I ordered years ago....

Re: How long is typical for Stick Enterprises to ship string
In 2015, I was having trouble contacting SE online or via email. I ended up purchasing four sets of Chapman Stick strings from Strings Direct. They were made by NewTone in the UK. My cost including delivery was less than $30 CAD per set. In 2017, I received a set of SE strings and didn't like them. The NewTone strings sounded better on my vintage Stick. However, the SE strings sounded better on my Railboard. I have enough strings to last me for a while. https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/https://newtonestrings.com/?v=3e8d115eb4b3

Re: How long is typical for Stick Enterprises to ship string
I emailed SE a couple of weeks ago needing a new volume knob (very specific piece of kit, fell off at a gig, didn't notice until the next day). E-mailed Jeff@stick and got a response the next day. Said would ship at no replacement cost for the price of shipping. Had my volume knob arrive a week later to Ohio in the US. I consider that dang good customer service.
