I'm curious. Do any of you perform live in stereo? If you do, do you monitor from your front, or rear? Is the melody side on your right, or left? Is the melody on house (audience) left, or right?

Just curious

Jeff

I've never performed in stereo as far as the "front end' is concerned but have run my NS Stick in Stereo on stage so i can use different effects on each channel.

Hi Jeff,

I usually run stereo, but not in the sense of bass and melody panned to separate sides. I like the depth of stereo effects onstage, and there are some little tricks to give you the sensation even in a mono environment.

If the PA is mono, but your stage rig is providing a fair amount of you sound in the room, then just amplify one side of your sound on the stage and send the other to the house, and have them feed it back in the monitor.

If you have "Ether Ore" I used lot of delay patches on that that had the unprocessed sound panned center for each side of the instrument, but the delayed signal was panned at about halfway left for the bass and halfway right for the melody.

When the delay times are identical, this can make for some very interesting effects.

On some of my recordings I've used a slight panning to give each part a bit more space. Bass is usually left and melody usually right.
