Kevin’s 12 string graphite
Instead of answering everyone’s individual messages, I will post here. I’m selling my 12 XG. I’m not playing it because I don’t feel the need to have two Sticks......I am still an active player though. Many people have expressed interest in it but I am leaning towards selling it to Alain who lives in Montreal I think......if he can come up with the cash before the month is out. I want to sell to him strictly because he’s in Canada and shipping is just simply easier. If he’s out, I will update this thread. I’m on the fence about giving up my soft case in the deal, we’ll see.
Cost, $2500 Canadian......yes this is a damn good price. I’m not looking to make money. 12 string XG #4799G, vintage 2002 me thinks. Tuned mirrored 4ths, medium gauge. Dot inlays, currently covered by really cool Irish cross stick on inlays. PasV Last visit to Emmett’s shop, summer 2014......he gave it the usual TLC.
I’m currently in Calgary dusting off the rust in the simulator and will be back to Ontario Friday evening. I’ll take a bunch of pics and post them here Saturday.
If Alain can’t do it, I’m only going to sell to two of the guys on here that are a “known quantity “ to me and that have messaged me. Money transfer......I have to talk with my wife about that.....she’s techie,,,maybe a simple email transfer will suffice.
Cheers, Kev

That’s a fine instrument Kevin. I had the pleasure of playing it while waiting for my first stick to come in Alain will be lucky or anyone else who ends up with it.

Re: Kevin’s 12 string graphite
i had a graphite for a good while and i think it's the best feeling material for a stick that i've tried. alas i like my frankenstein stickup/emg pickup too much, so as time went by i wasn't playing it much. it you like block form factor pickups, it's a great way to go.

Re: Kevin’s 12 string graphite
hi Kevin. it sound like there's quite a bit of interest, but if the others decide not to, I'd be interested (I talked to rob a few months ago..and...well, I really like closed voicing counterpoint o 4ths is of interest. maybe i rewatched Kevin Keith's advice to stick to inverted 5ths...and it makes sense, but someone the 4th just doesn't seem to shake out of my head - and I wonder if I have to just get it out of, or integrated into my view of stick)
anyway - just keep us all posted

Re: Kevin’s 12 string graphite
Here’s some pics. The stick has no nicks or mars. The pickup selectors are a tiny bit scratchy, I’ll try some potentiometer spray on them.

Re: Kevin’s 12 string graphite
Two more pics. You’ll notice the truss is not the modern dual model and only adjustable at the pickup end, not a problem on these rock solid beasties.
