Hesitation
Since about 4 or 5 months, someone not that far from where I live, wanted to buy my Railboard. It's a real beauty and this person doesn't have the money yet. On my side, I played quite a lot on it and I realized that I have more space for my fingers on a 10 strings when I compare to my 12 strings (Rosewood) and I can play things that are complicated or hard to play on my 12 strings...specially on dissonnances, which I like a lot. So...I'm not sure about selling it if one day he comes to me with his money. I also like the tone of this Railboard...it's unique. Well...I still have time to think about it but more I look at it, more I think that it would be better to keep it...lol.

Re: Hesitation
Well, you and I have had this conversation recently. Personally I couldn’t see owning two Sticks, one being a 10 and the other a 12. I’d never move between the two....I’m not that talented. That being said, I’m still thinking of grabbing a 12 string RB in the same tuning I use now (even though I just sold my graphite).
I’d sell it if you can and stick to the rosewood.....but that’s just me spitballing.
I’m very fascinated by the Railboard and the tech that went into it. It’s likely the most advanced instrument on the market today when we are talking about hands on playability.
Alain, if you had waited a bit and bought a 12 string RB, do you think you would still try to sell it? I ask because I’m on the fence about a RB.
Cheers, Kev

Re: Hesitation
You know, I have a rail-board that I never play. I literally only ever play my 12 string so I'm with you Kev - it feels like I need more talent/ability to move between both 12 str and 10 str.
So every now and then I look at the poor rail-board sitting there unloved, and I decide to sell it... then I price it way too high, and then actually end up deciding not to sell it once a buyer presents themselves...
I think that deep down I have this crazy idea that maybe I will one day play the darn thing... lol Oh well, until then...

Hey Scott. Happy holidays bro. ( I still have green grass, I should take a pic)
I’ll ask you the same question I asked Alain....if you had a 12 RB would you be playing it?
I’m REALLY on the fence about a RB.
Cheers big ears, Kev

Cheers big ears, Kev Kev, it's minus 16 right now and I have all kinds of snow. A bit frosty out! If I had a 12 str railboard would I be playing that? Yes I think so absolutely. I love the tone of my Railboard, so damn mean... Heck, I might just play it a bit tonight...

Re: Hesitation
An answer to both of you Kevin and Scott...if I had a 12 strings Raiboard...hum...maybe. What I like the most on my 10 strings is the spacing between the strings. It's easier for me with my RH to play in a cleaner way. Maye I should give me more experience to succeed to play what I'm trying to play. My fingers are really stretched sometimes (RH) to play these dissonnances I want to play. On my 12 strings some strings can sound muffed because this lack of space while it's easier on my 10 strings. I guess it has nothing to do whatever it's a railboard or another 10 strings stick. Spacing on these 10 strings is better for what I want to play...on the other side I would miss these 2 extra stings I get on my 12.
So...if the raiboard 12 had the same spacing between strings than the 10...hum...probably I would be interested to answer you directly Kevin.
Merry Christmas to both of you and all the stickists here...
