Post subject:  Left handed to right handed Grand Stick

Hello Stickists,
I have purchased a beautiful rosewood Grand Stick with linear white pearl markers and EMG active pickups. It came to me strung up left handed and I need to make the switch to right handed.

I will gladly accept links to proper adjusting the double truss rod (going from left handed heavy gauge to right handed medium gauge) as well as bridge, flaps, and string damping tape.

Advice on moving the Damping Shim from one EMG pickup to the next, corresponding the movement of the three lowest bass strings.

I have strings on order and hope to have a good handle of my approach to the transition by the time they arrive.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice
~ Walter

Make sure to look at the frets under the 2 biggest bass strings to see if they're dressed away - especially in the middle of the neck, to match the shape of the harmonic elliptical lobing excursion of those 2 massive strings in their present position. On the Railboard, the rails are machined in and the machining script is set up in 4 versions to permanently accommodate the location of those bass strings in right/left handed, crossed/uncrossed and non-reverse ascending 5ths tunings. On wood Sticks like the one you're talking about, those things are hand done by Emmett during setup, more subtle I would say, and may not be as critical regarding flipping tunings. Something to be aware of.

I'm a lefty and it never dawned on me that I could obtain a Lefthanded Stick, so I purchased another touch style instrument which I never liked, then a purchased a right-hand Stick and adapted to that orientation, wasn't that difficult because I am a ambidextrous, but even ambidextrous people have a more prevalent side.

Hello Stickistas,
Can anyone tell me what kind of adhesive is used to fix the damping shim for string balancing onto the ACTV-2 EMG pickups (the little rectangle on the pickup under the lowest bass strings)?
Thanks,
Walter C

Check out The Nano grip tape. It’s 1mm thick and it’s removable.
