Finally! Stickless no more
I received my new 10 string Railboard in RMR tuning today... ordered in June 2020. About a year and 5 months. I ordered a 12 string, changed to a 10 when I found that no pickups are available for the 12. Turned out that for all of this year there were none for the 10 string either...
Now I have to learn to play this beast.

I'm sorry, Mr. RC, but your post has no reliability with just words...we need to see some pics.
It's the only way to be sure. (yes, I'm quoting from Aliens there.)

Re: Finally! Stickless no more
OK... right off the invoice: 10-string Railboard, black, raised matched reciprocal tuning, medium gauge, EMG-RB10, black open gear Hipshot tuners, rust glitter linear inlay. Oh, and it's serial number 7289. Emmett recommends RMR and I have zero experience to suggest anything else. Oh, and I misstated the order age by a month - I ordered in July 2020, not June. My first problem was getting any sound out of it. I have a StepAbout (purchased a year ago, when I was still under the impression that I would have the Stick by December). I used the supplied cable to connect the Stick to the StepAbout, and a guitar cable I have to connect that to the amp, which is a cheap little Positive Grid Spark. Nothing. After a bunch of playing around, I find I can get a really quiet sound by turning the gain on everything almost all the way up. I know the StepAbout is a passive preamp, but in theory it should be presenting a normal line-level signal to the amp. Not sure what is happening, and will need to experiment more.

Looks nice. Rust never sleeps! (can't help w/ the amp)

Beautiful! And you getting yours means there is one less in the queue ahead of mine! No idea on the output issue, but I'd expect there to be NO problems with a StepAbout in the signal chain! Makes me worry about getting output from my amp modeler alone, though folks with the HX Stomp, HX Floor and others that are similar to mine (a Headrush Gigboard) don't seem to have any difficulties.

That stick kinda says, “look man, I only need to know one thing…. where they are…. ”

That was a good portion of the logic I used when placing my order, which is also for RMR.

Re: Finally! Stickless no more
she's a real beauty !!
That's kind of odd that you are not getting any sound out of it.
I don't know anything about the stepabout, but have you tried running the cable which came with the instrument one side at a time to the amp you are using ??
I am assuming you have the controls on the pickup turned all the way up.
I have the 8 string version of what you got, and I'm pretty sure it's got the same pickup and she played great right out of the box.
