Post subject:  Roman Giza - All Major Thirds Tuning?

I know that Roman Giza uses an all thirds tuinng but does anyone know the actual tuning he uses?

I don't currently plan on trying it, but I'd like to map it out for the 'Other Alternative Chapman Stick Tunings' section of my Touchboard Maps page.

My guess is: C1 E1 G#1 C2 E2 G#2 C3 E3 G#3 C4

Using string ranges normally used on Sticks it can't be far from that, i.e. the highest string no higher than D4 and the lowest no lower than B0 (or Bbo at a push but that seems unlikely).

So does anyone actually know the answer?

If not I'll just use the C1...C4 & say it's a guess.

Edit: Added 'Major' to the topic title.

Ixlramp will know the answer to that, as I sent him a copy of the tuning scheme that I use on my Mobious Megatar Toneweaver.

I seem to recall its not completely 3rds 100% across the board, but it is pretty close to that.

It's an intriguing tuning, that's for sure !!
I use it a lot when I am composing my own music with very long delays, pitch shifting, and huge reverbs...

The gentleman who I bought the instrument from came up with his own chart of tunings and string gauges, and when I bought the instrument from him several years back, he presented me with all his work.

Your guesses are correct.

I'm under the impression the railboard that he got to replace his stolen stick didn't have the relief scalloping - saldy that doesn't seem like an option from SE anymore (I get the blanks are probably batch run, but hopefully in future years, they can pull 1 or 2 off the line before the flycutter)

Roman's Railboard had the relief moved under strings 9-10. In previous years, this order option certainly existed.

I like his style. Easy listening music.
