I have seen some mention of the SB-7 on the wiki and a few other places and am intrigued. From what I can tell, they use a single pickup, not the ACTV-2 as on the SB8. Anybody got pics or info?

SB7's are Uber rare as far as I know. I am not sure if the fretboard is skinnier than an SB8 but I'm thinking it might be? I tried to find some info to no avail.

By the way what happened to stickiwiki?!?! That had all sorts of good stuff. WHat happened to all that info, arghhh.

SB7's came before SB8's, (Not just a string count) they had a thinner neck and were strictly MONO tap instruments meant to hold the bass role in music. I remember seeing a few for sale on E-Bay some years back. The SB8 and NS Stick can split in stereo and play bass and melody but the SB7 was for all practical purposes a bass instrument. That said, as Stick players we all know musical rules are made to be broken!

And hey wferguson, where did you get that photo of me? :o :D 8-)

I remember when the SB-7 came out ('97 or '98?). I think they only lasted for one production run before the SB-8s came out and became the norm for Stick bass. So yes, they're pretty rare.

I remember the newsletter when it was introduced. Wanted one immediately. Glad I waited till I grew up and got my 12-string DBR. Much more room for wrong notes.
