I've recently noticed that the "wood" laminates of my bamboo stick are splitting away from the body. This is occurring on the back at the point where the truss rod is adjusted. The truss nut is snug at the top of the channel, and it appears to be pulling the bamboo apart when I adjust it. Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions? Help! Actually, I think the damage is superficial and will only be cosmetic, but I still don't much care for it.

I'd call SE right away!

I had something similar happen to my bamboo grand. I sent to Emmett and it was fixable. I'd give SE a call .

This happened to my rosewood grand. I live in the desert (Tucson, AZ) and the extreme dryness of the air plays havoc on wooden instruments. I recently had my Stick worked on by SE and this cracking near the truss adjustment was one of the issues. There is a slight evidence of the splitting/cracking of the wood next to the truss rod adjustment nut and plates, since they worked on it, but seems to be largely taken care of. I would recommend the services of SE to help with this, seeing as how they did a good job on my Stick.

My XBL had the same thing happen. Emmett said don't worry and play your Stick. Good enough for me. After the initial chip in the secret material,it did not happen any more. Painted over it and basically forgot about it.
