Post Correct direction to wind strings on outside tuning pegs
Hello fellow Stick enthusiasts,

I'm finally getting around to replacing the strings on my 10 string with classic tuning. The strings on the outer tuning pegs are currently wound around the inside of the pegs. This creates a pretty sharp angle in the string and requires that the outside pegs be turned in the opposite direction as compared to the rest of the strings.

It occurs to me that if the outside strings were wound around the outside of the pegs the strings would be better aligned and all of the pegs could be turned in the same direction when tuning.

Can anyone recommend which is the correct way to wind the outside strings?

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

you'll notice that the tuners are reversed on the outside, so that the direction of sharp or flat tuning is the same for the whole string group.

Thanks Greg. Thanks LJones. That was my gut feeling but I wanted to verify it.
