Post Videos of Folks Playing Dual Bass Reciprocal
Hi!

Might someone share some links to performances in DBR?

The new Stick I have on order is supposed to be tuned DBR but I realized I never actually saw or heard anyone playing that tuning. :)

Thanks!

-Jonathan

I made a YouTube search and found a couple of DBR STick videos. First this beautiful improvisation by Greg Howard:

There might be relevant informative text at each video's original YouTube page.

Then I found a bunch of uploads by Jim McLaren:

Heh, this just shows how much more there is to add to my playlist. I know what I will be doing tonight. Thanks, Per.

Thanks, Per, for posting "Rain Dodgers", and for your kind comment about it...

I should point out that my DBR tuning is based around a low C not a low B, which meant that I had a familiar set of notes to work with on strings 6-10.

Here's another one with that instrument in a band setting:

I like that tune! First time I discovered this type of groove was by Weather Report's Cucumber Slumber, where Alphonso Johnson found a really cool bass line/riff. Not played on the Stick though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eUMQSfPtZU.

Thanks, Per and Greg! Those are awesome! I'm convinced I made the right choice in tuning. :)

@Per - that is one of my favorite albums of all time…. I remember, growing up in Xenia, Ohio, and one of my friends sisters had just come home from college with this and a "fat one", the experience changed my musical life forever!!
