Does your Stick(s) have a name, and Why?...
taking a lead from a recent post about "New SG-12 ordered", how 'bout if u named your instrument(s), why, female? male? i've always named my cars, instruments, (animals), so let's hear it. my Ironwood is "Sylvia" after the Focus song. (no, i never learned it) it's on the back of the headstock, and when she was cleaned up by Emmett, he filled in all the dents and dings, put a new plackard on it (i took it off), but didn't touch the name, and it's only a Dymo label. my 12 string bamboo is called "Blondie" 'cause she's big, and blonde. turns out 3 years later im dating a big blonde. but she's not jealous. (the girl). even though i spend more time with Blondie than her. but she (the girl) knows Blondie (the Stick) comes first. hey, priorities. first love and all that crap...so let's hear it, boys and girls!

"The brown one " and "the red one", or "the old one" and "the new one" - 1999 rosewood Stickup Grand and 2004 padauk Block Grand, that probably explains it

Re: Does your Stick(s) have a name, and Why?...
Never thought to name Paduak #130 until I had confirmed the sale of it. In speaking with the lady who purchased it, after I had owned it for 22 years, travelled up and down the states and Canada, recorded with it, played my grandmother's birthday party - I gave it the name it was worthy of - Grace.
Grace Chapman had repaired it after it had survived my house burning down in 1994. It was the first thing I grabbed when I returned home to see what was left of my house. The house was filled with smoke and the floor wet. I was waived off on two times by Firemen in heavy gear and facemasks. I felt for it on the side of my bed, and when I grabbed the case, the black plastic had melted and stuck to my left hand, burning it severely in the process. I wrenched the Stick out and went to find my GRID next - a legacy ironwood. Along with the two space rack that controlled it, that instrument was destroyed, I made no effort to revive it.
So, the lady that bought it said she loved the name grace and said she would take care of it. That is how my (previous) Stick got it's name. When mentioned to Grace of this, she exclaimed, "meh". To which I exclaim, priceless...
I have no name for the Stick I swapped with JRJ for - except maybe "the Stick I swapped JRJ for".

Re: Does your Stick(s) have a name, and Why?...
I have an old Ironwood Stick ca.1983, and I'm a fan of baseball, so I just naturally started calling mine "The Ol' Iron Horse". It was completely organic, took no thought whatsoever. You can pronounce "horse" like "hoss" if you wish. Which brings me back to Frank Zappa in "Montana"... I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss His name is Mighty Little He's a good hoss Even if he's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or blanket on, anyway He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or blanket on, anyway Anyway...

Mainly because of the color. I hadn't realized I picked the color to look like my favorite game fish. Guess you could call it "The Fish Stick." Also I wouldn't be surprised if my dad photoshops a fish in place of my Stick in the future. You guys be the judge:
