I'm really waiting for a 12-string Railboard. I know, that that's a FAQ, but where to read about it?

I war bribed a bit by it's price and the thing, that it's made of aluminum, which is cool and futuristicly progressive. I was very dissapointed, that there was no Grand Railboard, or something) Bird said, that 12-str Railboard comes too heavy, or something...

If they ever make a wooden or bamboo Stick with the kind of string spacing and body bevels (even if not so extreme) that the Railboard has ... oh boy, I don't think I could resist. Such is not likely to happen; I can't imagine a Stick with that much wood removed would be able to remain stable, unless some kind of perpendicular reinforcing bar inserts were developed.

Would the full aluminum be too heavy?

I got adjusted to it really quickly. A 12-string would be heavier than the 10 with the current overall design. It could possibly be the heaviest Stick made. I'm not sure that would be a deterrent for many people. A good belt or a lap bar is a good idea anyway and is pretty much required. I would give a 12-string Railboard a serious look. I do love my rosewood Stick and I might prefer a grand made of natural ash. I don't know yet. So many possibilities! -Eric

Re: To Railboard or not to Railboard, that is the question
I have a 12 strings (description is always at the bottom of my messages) and if I had to buy a railboard (or any other 10 strings stick) it would be for the difference in each instrument. I'm sure playing a 12 and (or) a 10 is 2 different world. That's the main reason why I'd like to have money to buy a 10. I love my 12 on the other side.
