Post Gig Bag Suggestions Please.
I'm planning on taking my stick out very shortly, and want a gig bag for it.

The real one's are too expensive for me, and it'd probably take forever to place an order anyway.

Do they fit into gun bags ?

I've been looking on Amazon and you can get a great quality rifle bag for not a lot of money, but I'm not sure if the bags are deep enough.

:D

As a matter of fact, Mike Kemp brought his Stick in a gun bag to the Northeast Seminar. There's a waiting list at S.E. for the Stick bags at this point, but I'm on it; if I'm to do any traveling with it that involves security checkpoints, I'd rather not carry my Stick in anything that could result in misinterpretation.

I'm wondering if the average airport security guy can tell the difference between a Stick bag and gun bag. Guitars bags I'm sure the recognise, but surly a Stick bag looks pretty much like gun bag to anyone not familiar with these niche instruments?

I know what you mean, I had considered that :D , I don't think there'd be a problem to be honest, I'm only really going to be carrying it around with me on the train. We don't really have much of a problem with guns, they're not too easy to get a hold of, and if you see someone carrying what I'm looking at, you probably wouldn't think it contained a gun, unless you knew it was maybe a gun bag anyway.

This is what I've been looking at.

A gun bag might work. Get the dimensions of the unit and your Stick and do the math. I'd get the slimmest one that would do the job,go basic black and avoid the camo "Duck Dynasty" look cause it would be OVERKILL....

For my SG-12 I'm very happy with a Ned Steinberger electric cello gig-bag:

Maybe they have them for the NS electric standup bass too, which would fit a full scale Stick?
