For the record, I took tritone up on sending a PM to talk shop. He (presuming tritone is male) actually sent me a thoughtful, non insulting, response. Go figure.

I had a looooooooooooong chat with TT last night. Nothing new to report, ( i wouldn't disclose his identity if I were told in confidence anyway). My only problem with him is his rudeness. I don't care about disagreements, those can be healthy, but insults are immature (did I just insult him?). So he will continue to imply that he is a well known player (he has never actually said it, only implied) and I will continue to doubt him.

As for his ego... I now know that his taste/expertise is in a whole different musical realm than mine (or Greg or Steve for that matter). So his feeling superior is just immaturity. He's not the same type of player as me at all, or I him. And, i don't care if he can actually play, or how well.

I mean he's a shredder albeit a fusiony one. So who could he possibly be? there are only a few players of note which pop into my head, and I doubt he is one of them. I admit I find him entertaining when he is civil. I think a lot of us do, and others can't understand why.

So keep his silly 1/10 quote handy (you earned that TT). And I just hope we can all be civil and grow/learn together.

I can deal with rudeness, he goes beyond rude to being just plain mean. I won't deal with his kind of mean. Most of us have never said anything here on the forum that we wouldn't say to everyone in person. I doubt tritone would say out loud everything he's written if we were all in the same room. If he would tone down his mean-spirited vitriol and have a conversation with us as if we were face-to-face, I would welcome him. I'll wait for that, probably for a long time.

He also has a serious problem with Steve A. I had a seminar with Steve, have a lot of his CDs, have one of his books, and I've seen him play live. It's fine to not like his style of music, but to vent about Steve the way tritone does is wrong. I've learned a ton from Steve and I'll never have chops on his level. Where does the hate come from? It seems like it centers on the fact that Steve makes actual money with his music. That's a common meme for some people. True artists are poor and are not supposed to make money. And if you promote yourself, well you are just the lowest form of scum.

Let it go, tritone, we know your opinion and we don't care. We like it that some Stick players actually make some change. It's inspiring and is good for the instrument and for the whole community. We might not have this forum, or the Stick itself, if TL weren't successful and hadn't made money by being a Chapman Stick player. TL promotes himself, do you also resent him?

I've met lots of people here on the forum. When I post something I feel like I'm having a face-to-face conversation. Could you switch to that mode, Tritone? You'd have to let the hate go, but you'd gain so much more. I'll be the first one at the door with my hand extended.

Lol @ imply. Was this imply made when you spent 20 mins running down the list of every stick player you could think of and asking me if I were them? Also, imply is such an absurdly broad term. For instance, when you implied that you were extremly insecure about your playing and music. (Actually, I guess it's not implying if he actually told me that.)

What you said here merely reinforces the observation I made to you towards the end of our converstaion. Which you agreed with as well.

I never started a thread about Tritone, don't care much about about music-school wannabes who wear shirts that say "I'M AWESOME" when their bands sound like Motley Crue, and I don't give to charities, which I now believe Tritone to be. Tritone is a charity for those who want to be awesome, but just can't be.

The guy won't tell you who he is, wants to keep you guessing, won't even tell you what music he's into, while insulting you for not being up to his standards and you guys keep starting threads about this dork-savant?

I could keep asking questions of him, keep "challenging" him to post his music, or even to name ONE BAND that he thinks is really NEAT. In the end, Tritone is his own challenge. He is incapable of these things, he only operates to make you guys mad because the attention is then focused on HIM. That's what he needs, because he can't get such attention through music.

See, those who hide things have things they need to hide. The thing he's hiding is his talent. Why? Because outside the realm of manipulating JPEGS, the guy has none.
