 Re: hate mail!
I'd be honored that someone (Is it who I think it is) took the time to send you hate mail. If I got hate mail I'd print it and tape it to the wall, post it on Facebook and let everyone know that some loser out there is so jealous and hateful that they took the time to send me hate mail. It's way better than Hallmark!!

 Re: hate mail!
For regulars who frequent Stickist, we are all familiar with a gadfly that has criticized Greg and Steve (as well as others) from time to time. A few years ago, he took time to write a snarky post, belittling some of the music I'd posted online.
I was thrilled. To be criticized by the same doofus that had taken such august players as Greg and Steve to task, I thought I'd arrived! Personally I don't think my playing/writing is anywhere near Misters Howard and Adelson, but it was fun to be impugned by the same snake-in-the-grass as them.
Criticism. Much ado about nothing.

 Re: hate mail!
The Good side of the web is I can find GREAT clips of Greg, Bob and who ever else The Bad side of the web is it is Faceless and people are quick to be cruel
I personally want to thank Greg for all his efforts to the stick community that fact that he is avaialble to us is awesome In dealing with the public there will always a small % of people that are just ( FILL in the rest )
From Lessons, Seminars, CD's and the latest DVD Thanks
Tom

 Re: hate mail!
I don't have much on youtube (I don't have the means to capture good video & audio during a performance). But the little I have out there...people criticize and offer no solutions.
Therefore, I don't see that as criticism. Just being an anonymous jackass.

 Re: hate mail!
I've never hears a bad tune or a clumsy mistake or bad timing on any of Greg's pieces or instructional videos. I think this might be more personal than Stick prowess. Might be some kid that had issues with you in the 3rd grade. Even if I heard a flaw in someone's playing, I couldn't see exerting the energy to hurt someone's feelings with an email. That's just sad and draws all the attention to the fear and jealousy of the person writing it. I say, in the most eloquent way I can, fuck him/her. If someone isn't making mistakes theyre probably not trying to evolve. If there are any said shortcomings in Greg's playings, it's due to his constant effort to change and improve the approach to the instrument....but still I don't hear them. Blow it off. This is clearly subjective babble not objective or constructive critique.

 Re: hate mail!
Weird to send an email like that! I understand the point in writing a bad review in public, but sending your personal complaints directly to the artist makes no sense. That is irrational and says more about the sender then about the subject. Try not to pay attention.
Every person experiences music differently and you must accept that what you hear as "a floating timing with long dynamic envelopes that cause an exciting tension" might sound as "out of tempo" in someone else's ears.

Um, Tritone? If it isn't him, it may as well be.
