It wasn't a very good idea to contact the pawnshop guy.....You think he's gonna cooperate now......??????? OMG I was afraid of that.......That was not too logical you know. Confronting the guy puts the Stick back underground.

Relax, Blue...I don't think anyone told him that Stick is stolen. At least nobody here did. All Jeff did was ask the guy if he was the owner of the Stick and he admits he isn't.

Last I checked it's still up for sale.

Good...cause I totally misread what he said.....Let's not spook the guy. That piece about the instructions to report a stolen item on ebay will help.....The cops seem like they are totally computer clueless....So I'll be up there first thing in the morning with that little piece.

I don't want to see this guy dissapear into the brush anymore than you do, Blue.

Tell the cops there's a good possibility that stolen property is about to be transported over state lines. That'll light a fire under their ass!

What gets me, is just how long it takes from the time you present the evidence to the time that something is done.

The police have to get the evidence first. That does take a little while but it's worth it when what they present as the end result is pretty much airtight.

Once it goes before the judge, and depending how the accused wants to plead, it could take as long as three months.

bluedallas,

Here is the exact text sent to the seller, as a potential buyer.

Quote:
Dear lonestar2409,

Hey, nice price on this Stick, what is it's condition, and why are you selling it? Are you the original owner? If not who did you purchase it from?

Thanks

- comasj

Pretty normal buyer questions. Should be nothing to tip him off. I suggest maybe you pose as a potential buyer, and see if you can arrange to see the stick, in person along with the police captain you mentioned. He says he has a pawnshop, presumably with an actual store-front.

BTW I sent lonestar2409 a follow up saying thanks for the info, so as to seem like a regular, potential buyer. Pretty sure I sent him nothing to tip him off.

I went to the Sheriff's office this morning and the dispatcher said that they contacted Ebay. They had form to fill out and fax. Now they are waiting for Ebay to respond back..........So its in the mix. Now we wait......

The less you speak of your adversary when you are on a stalk the less he is likily to know he is being hunted. Trust me...right now that " I am just a pawnbroker" guy feels a tightening in his gut but doesn't know why.
