new to tapping and looking for a second hand Stick
Hi everyone! I just want to introduce myself to you. My name is Conrad, a farmer living in Ambergen, Germany. My musical background is quite meager but I have played the piano since I was a child. I have been interested in learning to play the stick instrument but it has not happened because of my work on the farm. Now the farm is sold and moving out in april and I can finally dedicate myself to all that I have missed. I am now looking for a stick, a second hand, so I can begin learning to play. But where can I find a good but used stick? I hope I can find one soon.

Hi Conrad, Stick Enterprises often has second-hand Sticks they get on trades for new instruments. These instruments are reconditioned and updated and sold with a one-year warranty. Because this stock changes quickly, please call them during business hours to inquire: http://www.stick.com/contact/Also, there are instruments posted in the classified section of this forum fairly often. Welcome to Stick Land...

There's one posted in Toronto, Canada. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/city-of-toronto/chapman-stick-2000-awesome-deal/1119069712The exchange rate would be in your favor now. http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/con ... I am still laughing... Actually, I pretty much ONLY play my 12 str at this point, my poor railboard is collecting dust. I might be a hoarder...

Re: new to tapping and looking for a second hand Stick
I cancelled my railboard order when the Canadian dollar started losing value. It was a smart move, as I would have only got 71 cents to the US dollar when it was ready. In the meantime, #404 is getting used on a daily basis. It's plugged into the Steinberg UR44. http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/audio_interfaces/ur_series/models/ur44.htmlSanta is bringing me a Zoom H4NSP for the road. https://www.zoom.co.jp/products/handy-recorder/h4nsp-handy-recorderI'm having a lot of fun, just noodling around. I don't read music but I'm slowly gravitating towards a higher education. Santa is supposedly bringing me Greg's DVD. http://www.stick.com/instruction/videos/basicfreehands/I already have Emmett's Free Hands book and Steve's Book/DVD combo. and Bob's DVDs. Re: new to tapping and looking for a second hand Stick
yeah, like Greg said, get one used from Stick Ent., you being in Germany you'll get a perfectly set-up Stick, no hassels, no "Is this set up right?", straight up, dig right in...

Re: new to tapping and looking for a second hand Stick
Thank you all fantaStick stickplayers for your respond. Unfortunately I have not been able to respond earlier. There has been Christmas celebrations with family and relatives, but also because it 's time to pack for the move from the farm. I 've decided to buy a used 12-string stick from Stick Enterprise instead. It feels much safer. Now even my wife became interested in learning to play the stick but she has not decided what kind of stick she wants to start with. Can you recommend something? She, like me, has piano background.
And my last question is:
Is it just me who noticed that there are very few women who play Stick?
Sincerely
Conrad
