New Railboarder from PNW!
Hello! Actual name is Kenin. I have been a fan of the Stick since I discovered it ~12 years ago. I remember John Myung was playing one on the Dream Theater "Live at Budokan" DVD. That unique tone was simply captivating, let alone the sonic possibilities! I immediately researched what it was, and came upon Greg Howard's 2-minute demonstration video, which I am sure you all have seen. I remember absolutely cracking up at the end when he just started grooving with one hand and shredding with the other...not laughing AT Greg, of course--I was just in sheer disbelief! Anyway, I've been a content guitar player (and drums) for years, playing 6-, 7-, and 8-string guitars along the way. Mid-November, the order for my Blue Railboard in Deep Matched Reciprocal was sent through. Customer service at Stick is unrivaled. Now, I'm trying to patiently wait for word as to when it might be completed and shipped out! I admit that I have been lurking for a few days, just to see what kind of setups people run for their Sticks. I will have to make do with old Fender bass and keyboard amps for the time being, but I think it will be inspiring enough just to hear it, at this point. I have also been soaking up some instructional videos here and there, but I have a feeling that I will be too excited the first few days to diligently play the chords and scales...maybe once I settle down?

Welcome Kenin, to the Forum, and to your first StickWait. May it soon be Stickmas and the Railboard of your dreams no longer be a dream! starburntsky wrote: I admit that I have been lurking for a few days, just to see what kind of setups people run for their Sticks. There's lots of discussion about amps and gear around here, and there's lots of ways to rock and jazz and prog it out. "We all have our rocks in the stream coming down from Stick Mountain." Bass and keyboard amps lend themselves well to Sticks and you'll probably be fine to start with, in my opinion. I'm sure you'll want to level up and I'm sure people will have plenty of opinions to share. Your Railboard will be here soon, hopefully. Please share lots of pics when it does and best of luck!

Re: New Railboarder from PNW!
Thank you all for the warm reception! I don't think that joining this board will really help me with the "patience" aspect of all this... I must say how impressed I am with the welcoming vibe of this group compared to the general internet itself. Gusset wrote: Welcome, and congratulations on your pending delivery! What part of the PNW? Re: New Railboarder from PNW!
Thank you, and will do! I know good things take time, so I'm happy a Railboard takes months as opposed to years...but hopefully our waits won't be too much longer.
