New-Old stock intro
I was a Stick player in the 90’s, I lost all my instruments including my stick and and a couple of other touch style instruments in a flood late 90’s. I am excited to play again. I have searched for months for a stick, they are rare and mostly out of my price range. I finally bought a used Krappy 10 string. The name is correct. I’ve changed the pickups, harness, pots, tuners and am waiting on a bridge. I will eventually have to do a fret job(frets are too small). Still I am happy to be dusting the heavy rust off my touch style playing and glad to join this forum.

If I am reading correctly he does not have a Chapman Stick he lost it in a flood. The instrument he is refurbishing is a Krappy .

A few people here have some of Krappy Guitar's Instruments. When I first heard of them I had to look as I thought the person was joking, but they are real: https://www.krappyguitars.com/HTML/touchstyle.html#

I did lose my Chapman stick in a flood late 90’s. I am working on a Krappy 10 string.

Being that it takes about two years for a STICK build that should give you some time to gather a little money. Some companies have a payment plan don’t know if SE does , but it seems practical. I deal with Fodera and they have payment plans . My motto buy once, cry once. Hope you get a real Stick back in your hands once again.

Re: New-Old stock intro
I need to order fret wire for my “Krapman” Stick, what fret size did Chapman use? I think on the later ones he made diamond shaped frets. Larger frets will suffice on this instrument until I can acquire a real Stick. Thanks for the welcome and comments.

Re: New-Old stock intro
Emmett used jumbo bass fretwire on the original Sticks until he switch to stainless steel "rods" and then s.s. "rails". Big then little then medium. Always tinkering, that fellow.
