Post Hello all!
Hey gang,

Just an introduction... I've recently rejoined the Stick community with a purchase of an SB8. I use to have a 10-string about ten years ago. Life got in the way, I drifted away from it and ended up selling it :(

A few years ago I picked up an 8-string Warr guitar on eBay and got back into tapping. It's a really nice instrument. Unfortunately, the truss rod broke on it right when I had a bunch of gigs booked. Luckily, it was right when Stink Ent started selling non-custom instruments! Perfect timing!

The Warr is a beautiful looking and sounding instrument but I find it to be a bear to play (even the 8 string 'small' model). I have fallen in love all over again with Emmett's design. The shear playability is incredible! And the new passive pickup module sounds fantastic!

I also find the SB8 fourths tuning to work for me a little better than the traditional Stick 'split' tuning. Although, I haven't thrown out revisiting it.

Anyway, in addition to tapping I also do Interactive Arts Programming in Max/MSP and Objective-C (iOS). Here are some links:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id423249960?mt=8# (simple Orff-like music app and "Audience Inclusive Collaborative Performance" tool)
http://thumbafon.com (info site for Thumbafon App)
https://www.facebook.com/fabicius.lavender (a project w/ vibraphonist & friend Martin Fabricius)
http://www.youtube.com/user/WatchLavender (my YouTube Channel - right now I only have one video of me playing Stick. More to come!)
http://christopherlavender.com (needs updating)

I'll be gigging in and around Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmo, Sweden through the second half of June with my SB8. Checkout the Facebook page for dates and locations.

Hi Chris

Welcome to the forum.

I enjoyed the vibes duo. Looking forward to where the SB8 takes you.
