Greetings from Maine
I'm currently awaiting a re-worked used Stick to be completed by Mr. Chapman; it should be done within a couple of days now. I'm incredibly excited to begin the next phase of my music life. (I've been a drummer for 32 years, and most of those years were spent as a professional, but I've been dreaming of having a Stick since 1985.) Glad to be here.

Welcome! Drumming is an excellent experience for learning the Stick! Great to see more people getting into this fantastic instrument.

Re: Greetings from Maine
Welcome to the Stick community. I've wanted a stick ever since I saw Tony Levin playing one with Peter Gabriel on the Shock the Monkey tour in the mid 80s. I finally took the plunge and bought one and I'm glad I did. It's a fantastic instrument and a lifetime learning opportunity. Happy tapping!

Well, I meant: because you already have been playing a multitasking instrument where both hands are used more or less independently. For guitar or wind players - which is my pre Stick discipline - there is also the challenge to re-educate the brain to not direct both hands as players in the same gesture but to function independently. I had no problems tapping as a complete newbies - as long as I used one hand, but when using both hands my brain protested. Took a week only to free my hands and get started.

Hey Bergerstick, Welcome.
Great to meet another crazy on this thing. Reading your introduction sounds, almost to the year, much like my own journey towards the Stick. I've been a pro drummer since '84 and was bitten by the Levin bug back in the day. So I know just how you feel.
Man, go for it, I know you will.
Brotherly Stickist regards.

@ Per: I hope you don't take my earlier reply as glib or dismissive. I very much appreciate the input and the sentiments, and I'll accept any advantage & help that I can get! Thank you!

Re: Greetings from Maine
It arrived today. And it just might be the prettiest thing I've ever seen (aside from my wife, of course). Oh my goodness, I am in for a ride...
