Hello from sunny, humid Virginia!
I'm Zoë, a musician and singer/songwriter based out of the DC/NoVA area. I've got a background in lots of different styles of music, but these days I mostly dabble in rock and experimental/progressive stuff when I'm not doing my singer/songwriter thing. I just got my new Railboard in the mail this weekend and have begun traveling the path of the Stickist!

In the lead-up to ordering my Stick and while waiting for it to arrive I definitely found many of the posts made here on this forum by you lovely folks to be quite helpful while doing research on options and gear and all that, so now that it has arrived I figured I'm a bit past overdue to stop lurking and introduce myself.

I've actually been lusting after getting a Stick and enjoying the music of many fantastic Stick artists for about half my life now (my dad introduced me to the work of Tony Levin via King Crimson at an early age and thereby sealed my fate to carry this obsession). This year I was finally in a relatively stable enough financial position to make it happen!

So, hello, and thanks retroactively for all the useful information. I am excited to be joining your ranks as a newbie Stickist!

Welcome, Sister!!! Nice website.... and your tunes and voice..... you reminded me of Lou Reed,... Raw, intelligence, soulful. You bring a lot to the table.... Greg Howard is close by for lessons... and I would highly recommend him and his DVD Basic Free Hands to get started with.... There are also other talented teachers via Skype such as Dave Brosky (he is Talented and also hilarious!) and Steve Adelson (great for theory particularly jazz) Again, welcome and I am looking forward to your presence musically and otherwise!

Welcome Zoë, this is a great place to be a newb. Be sure to include us (namely, me) when the time to build a Stick rig comes.

Welcome, Zoe!

Dive in, explore, don't forget to come up for air.

If, down the road, you feel like a lesson would be helpful, please feel free to get in touch. I'm up in the DC area about once a month doing roving lessons for a few students up there...
