Post Poll: Who wants a Stick Piano?
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6020

Now that it has been established that reading is not one of the strengths of the fifths tuning, would you be interested learning to play on a model that can use piano method books?

Please, this time, let's have no posts about why you do not want to read music.
This thread is for people who do.

Like an SG12 in mirrored fourths with the correct ranges on both sides (SE's "mirrored fourths piano" gets it wrong). And, ideally, a 5-melody 7-bass split.
"Stick Piano" also refers to a course of study as discussed in the link above.

I have acquired a couple of different piano teaching methods and simpler piano music books. My musical background has been brass - one note at a time - so I have been spending time on the theory side trying to understand the accompaniment side. I can read melody on the stick but that left handed stuff needs a lot of work - particularly dealing with the bass clef. With 4ths tuning my left hand can pick up the patterns of the right hand. For some music I am running into left hand - right hand conflict so shifting the tuning makes sense. My inclination was to go more 7 melody -5 bass simplifying the accompaniment and expanding on the melody - but basically I don't know what I am talking about : )

Sight-reading is a big part of my practice /play routine.
