Free Hands Friday #73 Stick Pedalboard walkthrough
This Friday, FHF #73 will have a different format. It's simply going to be a video on the construction of a pedalboard using a Temple Audio Designs Trio 28 and a walkthrough of the Stick that I use along with cabling, power and amplifier. Ironically, my rig has already changed since this was made. More on that later. There is a minimum of talking in this video, in fact, there's none!
Just dance music. Yay.
So, please have a look on Friday and let me know what you think. These types of videos require a good deal more time and energy, so feedback is welcome.

Right you are Kalle! The video was marked as unlisted - now it's public!
This session is devoted to setting up, configuring and some general brainstorming on two handed pedalboards.

Oooh thank you Gene!! Can't wait to see it! BTW I tried your full baritone tuning on my railboard (baritone/std.bass) and I really love it! I liked it before but now it just sounds somehow more connected/similar to melody side and I can play positions where my hands came into way. I believe it's even better if I buy strings which are by gauge the optimal for this tuning and set it maybe a bit , but still. Also dig very much from the fact that the unison (f.ex. mel.side 2.string 8th fret = bass side 5th string 6th fret) gives me opportunity to play f.ex D7-chord with an unison in melody position opposed to similar 8th fret/8th fret. I tried to copy your Mercy Street and discovered this. Changed tuning, and voila Thanks again!

Thanks Kalle, grateful to you for your kindness. And - observations!
I had to look at my hand on the fretboard to grasp what you were saying about where the unison's line up on the bass side and melody side . I am not certain if they line up in a better way, so much as I have found, and you have experienced as well, the tuning accommodates the natural shape of the hand AND that it is easier to get those delicious ghost notes in the third and fourth fingers in the left hand while the first or second finger sustains a bass note.
I was a fan of lights for many years until I bought JRJ's Stick which had mediums. I have used mediums ever since!

It's here! I sure hope you can take a moment to check this out. This covers most every aspect of the setup: my Chapman Stick, cabling, power, amp and of course, the pedalboard. Happy Friday!

Very cool Gene! Nice rig rundown.....Great design from the pedalboard manufacturer. Digging the LED too, adds a cool spacey quality.
Cheers, Kev

Temple Audio Designs are a great Canadian company. Super helpful and a great product. You probably already knew and were just being modest about but there you are. Happy Freeking Free Hands Friday!

Really nice, Gene. I dig the board. Dig the layout. Dig the diagrams. Dig the sound track.
But most of all, I dig the space invader.
