Hey Dean, would be great to see you. Do you want to come out to Mission Control here at the Lab? Check out the Mars Yard or visit Mission Control (see what kind of bandwidth we're getting on Voyager lolz). We could do that at the end of the day on Friday, let me know what you think.

Anyone else in the area let me know, I have room for 6 more if anyone wants to do a quick tour of the Pasadena JPL / NASA facility, probably around 3 or 4pm.

Hell Yeah!

Need I say more?

Let me know where and when and I will be there. :geek:

Post Re: FREE HANDS FRIDAY #78 - SHTOMPAGE!
As mentioned in another thread, the MS-100BT has been my entire rig for the past three years. I use it for practice, recording, and gigs. I've run it through keyboard amps, a couple of Bose L1 towers, and several house PA systems, including line arrays in some pretty big halls. It's not perfect, but it always sounds good. It's tiny and lightweight, fits in my gig bag, and runs for several hours on two AA batteries. The internal tuner is good too.

Here is my basic clean setting in case anyone wants to use it as a starting point:

Amp: FD Combo

Gain 15 (higher if you have a Stickup) | Tube 0 | Level 60

Treble 45 | Mid 30 | Bass 50

Presence 0 | Cab FD Combo 2x12 (Alien 4x12 is also nice) | Output Line

After the amp, I add the parametric EQ for a bass boost:

Freq 80 | Q 2 | Gain to taste -- I like it between +9 and +12 | Level 100

I use this patch with the ACTV-2, but it also works well with the PASV-4. I don't have a Stickup, but I'd suggest turning up the gain setting on the FD Combo to about 30 or 40 for that pickup.

Add effects to taste. I use a delay and sometimes a phaser.

Editing to add . . .

YMMV quite a bit depending on your monitors. I tweak the Zoom through JBL LSR305 speakers and Sony MDR-V6 headphones. These give me a pretty good idea of how the patches will sound through a PA. Not perfect but usually pretty close. For practice, I prefer ATH-M50x headphones.

I just picked up a ms100bt. Looking forward to playing with it and seeing how easy it is (or not). Seems a great deal for what it's supposed to do.

Very helpful comments from everyone! I especially appreciate the specific patches. I have a gig tomorrow and plan on using the MS-100BT going into a Center Point Spacestation v.3. I will report back.

Gene - thanks for the kind words. I am honored to participate in a future episode.

Hey all, just a reminder for our Free Hands Friday session on Friday, October 7 at 9pm EST. We'll be talking a little bit about what's going on in our little corner of the world including the Virginia Stick camp, the upcoming FHA Fall Workshop with Bob, Emmett and Randy AND chatting a bit about ZOOM Stomp pedals.

I see Rob, Boaz, Vic, possibly Jeremy, Robstafarian, Steve and Dean and I. Great!

Dean and I will be dialing in from the same laptop, so there is still 3 more spots if anyone wants a piece of this. Dean and I will dial in 10 minutes in advance and get the session started.

Looking forward to talking to you then. :D

Same as it ever was. I can post a link on this thread, let's start with. If you are logged into g+ account and I know to look for you, I can send the link in a chat.

Whereas I enjoy a Talking Heads reference as much as the next guy, I think it is safe to say that those of us who used to log in to Google Hangouts in advance of the show will have to do things differently henceforth.

This looks to be a real group conversation, like the HD500 session, and I look forward to hearing from people who own one or more MultiStomp pedals. Of course, there is always the possibility that my health problems will force me to bow out—I really hate being unreliable.
