Post subject:  FHF Topic wish : the gk3 and gr 55

Hello
When Gene suggested for a FHF topic the song Mad World, the original version from tears for fears came to my mind.
.... and as a child of the 80ths, i prefer this version. 8-)
This brings me to the next thing:
Two of my sticks have a GK3, but i never used it. ( didn't want to spend more money for a gr55 at the moment)
After some searching i didn't see or hear someone using the stick as a keyboard with synthie sounds on one side, and the other side clean stick. (Would be nice for mad world :D ) i just saw the gr55 only used as a multieffekt(distortion, reverb ...)
The Gk option when buying a stick, is not cheap and i still believe its a great thing.
Anyone interested in a discussion or as a topic for this?
Gerald

Hey Gerald, I too would love to see a session on Mad World. Perhaps we could use this song as part of the exercises for the extended session with David coming up next month?

I've always wanted to add Mad World to the repertoire, so I am in on that one.

I do not have one of the MIDI pickups on my Stick, but would enjoy hearing a little more from those that use it. I know Steve A and Glenn Poorman use them with great effect to. Perhaps a survey is in order? Have you ever made a survey on the Stickist Gerald? I'd be curious to see how many Stickists here have a MIDI and who would want to participate in a FHF dedicated to MIDI pickups in particular.

Not Mad World, but I've use a Gk-2 and a very old GR30 with my Grand Stick in a subtle way in the following videos.
Spooky Things (background pad) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67cTBRDjLCk
The Sadness Within (background pad at end) https://youtu.be/GuOn6kblI7k?t=3m7s
TV Traffic (xylophone and airy part in bridge) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbuSz7IvfBI

Im a midi guy and Midi stick wanna be . All my pedals are midi pedals and even my Mixer (Kmix ) is Midi and can controlled by Soft step 2. Im hearing great things about Guitar Midi 2 which is similar but no special picks are required. Nima has a great video utilizing the Guitar Midi 2 in his playing . Im alway curious how to incorporate midi in all its forms in everyday stick usage.

Ooh, something new has been added!

Alright then! We'll get something hooked up for our long format session in November then. We'll cover all aspects of MIDI for the Stick, be it pickup, pedal or plug-in.

Right now, the second Friday of the month, November 10 is our target date.

Hello
I made a survey poll on stickist about the basic Midi(like) stuff

Please help us to get more information how you use your eqipment and probably help others in an online discussion
