Another Gig
Hey Stick Nation. Did another gig Friday the 12th at the St George Legion, Ontario. Added four more tunes this time, another 15 minutes or so. 1 hour, 45 give or take. Went pretty good....although I completely train wrecked "Your Song" by Elton. In an effort to redeem myself, I tried it again on the last set,......low and behold....train wrecked it again,,,,,eheheh....damnit.
Still got the nerves and can't deliver my A game,,,,if I even have an A game.
Folks dug it nonetheless, I shared the Sticky musings with a bunch of frostbitten Canadians, owner shot me some cash.....although I don't do it for cash....just wanna spread the gospel, and just want folks to see and hear this amazing instrument.
cheers, kev

Re: Another Gig
Great to hear Kev. You and Bruce have these crazy parallel lives, travelling by air or sea, and playing music on the Stick.
Pretty sure the next gig will be a beauty.

Re: Another Gig
An hour and 45 minutes! [Re-reading, I was confused. Just an hour or 45, not both!] You are a monster, sir! And trainwrecking Elton John twice does 3 awesome things: 1. It makes you look cute and endearing, as an Artiste who cares about his craft and is willing to take risks... More importantly, chicks dig that kind of sensitive stuff (I know you're already married but still!) 2. Makes an awesome story. And life is ultimately about the accumulation of really good stories. (Sink's Law #24.) 3. And builds callouses around that inner core of all of us that simultaneously wants to be the center of attention, but also is horribly stage fright and deathly afraid of f'ing up. I'm sure that got worked hard. But really, #2, it makes a good entertaining story for us! Thanks so much for rocking it out (one hour!) and for taking risks! You're my Gig hero Stick Evangelist! (And like Alain, I wanna hear it too! [Slides Kevin some bread into his tip jar....] )

Re: Another Gig
Hey Steve, I like your points. I was cute and endearing Before the gig though....eheh. Also I guess my gig duration explanation was confusing after I read it twice, ....but i did bang off one hour and 45 minutes of tunes....closing in on two hours now. Building up the playlist slowly.
I stole Your Song by David Tipton.....check out his cover online...its really nice. I have a cover too online, just not as purdy as his.
cheers, kev

Congrats Kev. Wish I could have been there! BTW, we need videos of train wrecks too, just to see we're not alone everytime is happens!
