I’m putting on a show Friday at 830pm EST. I’m hoping to live stream it on Facebook. I’m not playing stick in this one but if anyone wants to watch my 7tet play some Herbie Hancock tunes you can tune in and watch. I’ll try to get the live stream to work. It’s all charts I’ve arranged for 4 horns and rhythm section. We will be doing 11 Herbie tunes and 5 of mine. Hope you can tune in. I think it’s going to be a great show. So many Herbie tunes. We are not doing watermelon man but eye of the hurricane and Can’t elope island. Doing Toys , Fingerpainting , Tell Me A Bedtime Story , Driftin, Maiden Voyage, One Finger Snap, Dolphin Dance , Butterfly, And a bonus one ( I can’t think of it right now). |

I love Toys. Oh and the final tune is the only funk one we are doing Hang Up Your Hangups. Damn funky tune. I could have done Chameleon but it’s done a lot and just as funky. Could have done so many of his tunes. I’ll have to do a second night. Lol. I am working onCantaloupe Island on Stick as well as Chameleon on Stick so one day I’ll post those. The biggest issue is keeping the groove going while soloing. It’s coming along. But slower than I’d like. |
