Post Australian Gig Report June
Hi Folks , long time no post. Lost at Sea posts have ended , work offshore became untenable with internal border craziness & quarantine coming and going without warning. Really missing the film star money for now, really loving being home with the family all the time, having a " normal" life.
But I was asked back to the Beautiful Hotsprings Cafe for a third time and its probably the best paying gig I can hope for as a soloist. Middle of winter downunder , we've had wildly destructive storms but Sunday was perfect, calm , sunny , sometimes luck is on your side.
Its also a very relaxed place to work, many people escaped the city ( 90 minutes away) on the1st weekend after our 4th Lockdown and just cruise between the multitude of hot springs , dropping by the Cafe for food , wine , beer etc & then back to the pools. Perfect setting for some relatively chilled out Stick Music. I do 3 x 40 min sets and include 6 on acoustic guitar in the middle set. All in all it's a bit like my dream job, well looked after , the venue booker really likes the vibe. PA there is fine for the job, I just take a powered monitor for foldback fed from a desk send which really helps. Hope everyone is well in COVID year no.2, crazy times.

Wow, Bruce! I see you are doing a great work. Unfortunately too far away for me to come to the audience

And: I really miss the Lost at Sea posts!
