Has anybody ever found another location to purchase strings for a 12 string grand?

Other strings do not work well for the Stick... and why would you not support Stick Enterprises?Im not sure that any other place sells these strings. The strings and string sets that SE sells for the Stick are proprietary. Others have raised this same question, and have tried using other strings, and the common consensus across the board is that they do not work or sound as well as the string sets sold by SE. Perhaps someone else on the thread can give a better answer.

For one thing, the long scale especially the later 36"ones is too long for regular guitar strings. I was experimenting with different size strings for my 12th string when I decided to tune it down a whole step to the so-called high bass 4th and I was using guitar strings for my little experiment. I settled on a 0.13 plain but in that process I found an off the shelf guitar string will barely reach the 1st or 12th tuner and even then you can only get about 2 wraps on the peg - barely enough to hold. So length is a big factor for strings in the guitar range. Bass strings are available in 36"scale of course. Tone wise I know Emmett tried a bunch of strings to arrive at what he makes available. No reason for me to use anything else as long as they are available.

I have no problem supporting Stick EnterptiseS but they will no longer sell to me. I am forced to try and find strings elsewhere. I have been having trouble finding anything long enough in the required gauges.

I know I have seen previous threads about strings. Just wondering if anybody found a good workable solution?

I've been using Newtone strings from the UK. They work well, he does 10 and 12 string sets.

Cheers

meh, just call up Cambria at SE and say "Hey, I need some strings, can I buy some?" and she'll be like "Sure, what set do you need?" and then you'll tell her, and give her some cash and your mailing info, and >bam< strings on the way, easy as that. Really good customer service, should be no sweat!
