Post subject:  Wavestation A/D anyone?

Hey folks,

Has anyone ever played around with a Korg Wavestation A/D? I've just bought one off ebay, it should arrive next week. It has a reputation for being a pretty good (old) synth, but the thing of interest to me is the analog inputs. As well as using it for keyboard sounds and maybe even some vocoder effects, I'm hoping I can combine the Stick sound with some internal waveforms and get some bizzarre results, should be a lotta fun! :)

Cheers,

EG

I have no experience with the Wavestation, but I like your thinking on combining the stick and the synth. Please let us know how that works out.

I love the Wavestation, it's the only piece of synth gear I didn't sell off when I switched to plug-ins. Fantastic for interesting, evolving textures. However I just have the SR model (lots of presets but no inputs).

When I was into guitar/Stick MIDI triggering it's the synth I used. It's still in my effects rack, so perhaps it will be exploited in the future (foot pedals? MAX application?)

Hi Justin,

The Wavestation is a really fun synth. I used one extensively on the Code Magenta and Sticks and Stones Transmigration CDs.

Never had the A/D though, but was always intrigued by the possibilities, especially if you have a MIDI pickup, which would allow you to control the modulation of the sounds with note values, etc.

Thanks for the feedback guys, sounds like a good purchase. Have no idea how useful the analog inputs will be, but it should be a bit of fun at the least. :)

Cheers,

Justin

There you go Justin, you will have to order a MIDI pickup for your new Stick...?

Cheers,
Andy
